SOFTWARE ENGINEER @ CORTEXIS SCROLL TO DEPLOY

[ 02 ] SELECTED SYSTEMS

Things I've built that people actually use.

  • PROBLEM
The LLM agents were working from stale context and couldn't actually do anything in the product.
    BUILD
I built 30+ Java tool-calling endpoints that pull fresh context straight from the persistence layer, and 15+ reusable server-driven React components (composite, builder and factory patterns) so the agent backend can build the interface itself.
    ROLE
    Software Engineer, Cortexis.
    STACK
JAVA · SPRING BOOT · REACT · LLM TOOL CALLING
  • PROBLEM
Every client had its own deployment, so onboarding a new tenant took more than four hours.
    BUILD
I merged three per-client deployments into one multi-tenant architecture on Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, S3 and IAM.
    ROLE
    Backend Engineering Intern, Oreyeon.
    STACK
    AWS LAMBDA · API GATEWAY · RDS · S3 · IAM
  • PROBLEM
Over-the-air data uploads ran one at a time. They were slow, and a bad connection meant failed uploads.
    BUILD
I parallelized the pipeline with a Java ExecutorService thread pool and semaphore-gated concurrency, plus retries and error handling.
    ROLE
    Backend Engineering Intern, Oreyeon.
    STACK
    JAVA · EXECUTORSERVICE · SEMAPHORE
  • PROBLEM
The Alzheimer's Association in Lebanon needed a reliable web app for its patients and staff.
    BUILD
I built the Express.js REST API behind it, on Supabase (PostgreSQL).
    ROLE
    Backend Engineer (part-time), Oreyeon.
    STACK
    NODE.JS · EXPRESS · SUPABASE · POSTGRESQL
  • ACCEPTED 0THROTTLED 0

Click to send one request. Hold to flood.

    WHAT
An Express.js rate-limiting middleware that throttles abusive and brute-force traffic.
    HOW
It has three algorithms you can swap between: Sliding Window, Leaky Bucket and Token Bucket. Try them in the playground. Same flood, very different results.
    ROLE
    Full-Stack Intern, Two of Us.
    STACK
    NODE.JS · EXPRESS · MIDDLEWARE
  • WHAT
    A mobile-phone e-commerce storefront with 8+ pages.
    HOW
I led a team of 11 interns through planning, code reviews and delivery, and we shipped it in React and Tailwind.
    ROLE
Team lead (internship), Two of Us.
    STACK
    REACT · TAILWIND

[ 03 ] TELEMETRY

A few numbers from real projects.

4h → 30m

Time to onboard a new tenant, after I merged three separate client deployments into one multi-tenant AWS platform.

2.5×

Faster over-the-air data uploads, by running them in parallel on a Java thread pool.

−80%

Less time per Android SDK release. It went from about five minutes to one once I automated it in CI.

30+

Java endpoints I built so LLM agents can read and act on live production data.

15K+

Android app logs collected in one place, through Kinesis Firehose into Amazon S3.

3,500

Members in GDG Coast Lebanon, the developer community I help organize.

[ 04 ] THREE LAYERS

How I work, in three layers.

01

Cloud architecture

Built so growth never needs a rewrite.

I design multi-tenant platforms on AWS, so bringing on a new customer takes minutes instead of a whole new deployment.

02

Agentic systems

Letting AI agents actually do the work.

I build the endpoints agents call to work with live production data, and a server-driven UI the agent can put together on its own.

03

Shipping discipline

Releases should be boring.

At Cortexis I brought in semantic versioning for every release with Jenkins and Gradle, plus testing that catches bugs before users do. At Oreyeon I automated our Android SDK releases in CI.

[ 05 ] CHANGELOG

Hi, I'm Amir, a software engineer based in Beirut. I studied Computer Science at the Lebanese University, first a bachelor's and then a master's. Along the way I've built backends and cloud platforms, led a team of interns, and helped run Google Developer Groups Coast Lebanon.

[ 06 ] COMMUNITY

I build
communities, too.

I'm a Core Organizer at Google Developer Groups Coast Lebanon. With a team of eight, we run DevFest, Build with AI, Google I/O Extended and the Ramadan Event Series, which bring in 1,500+ students and developers every year. I handle sponsors, speakers and logistics, and sometimes I'm the one on stage.

  • 1,500+ attendees / yr
  • 8-person core team
  • 15+ companies at DevFair 1
  • 10+ internships secured
